From Alaska to Usuahia in tandem

The goal that each one sets before starting a long trip varies by person. Many of the reasons are common but, according to whom, some prevail over others. Some will seek adventure, others meet new cultures and people, risk sports, parties; and there are those who look for a solidarity motive.

In this last group we found our friend biciclown and now I discover the existence of Dominic Gill that it travels in tandem the more than 3 kilometers that separate Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, from Usuahia. Dominic seeks sponsorship on his website (Take a seat) and aims to raise some 7,500 Euros to donate to the foundation Hope and Homes for Children(Hope and Homes for children).

He left for his adventure only despite going in tandem and there lies much of his originality: Dominic not only seeks contributions for his cause but also asks people to pedal with him part of the way. Taking a look at his website I see how he has met people from all the countries where he has passed. Some have offered his house to spend the night, others a good homemade meal and many others have climbed into the free seat and have started pedaling part of the long kilometers that separate him from his dream.

The last update of his page was made on June 21 when he was in Coyaique -Chile- therefore he must now be touring Patagonia. If you find yourself in the area or are going to travel there, you can contact him and help him with his cause ... and with his heavy tandem!
