Bussaglia beach in Porto, Corsica

Upon entering the hotel and seeing the rooms we saw that the hotel perhaps needed some arrangement. Its construction seems to have about three or four decades behind it and a touch of paint and some masonry work would certainly increase a star easily. Even so, the double room with a clean interior bathroom seemed more than enough to rest that night and explore the coast of Porto the next day.

We had dinner at the same hotel and they offered us a menu of typical Corsican products of good quality.

Scandola Peninsula

In the morning, after breakfast we paid and the price seemed to rise one more star. Even so, room, dinner and breakfast came by 112 euros for two people It was around the average we were paying daily during our trip around the island of Corsica.

After saying goodbye to the hotel, we headed to Bussaglia beach. Despite its thick sand it seemed to me one of the best panoramic beaches I had seen in Corsica so far. The colors of dawn dawned and formed interesting shapes on the cliffs that surround the beach.

In the town of Porto we went to ask for schedules and prices to take a boat trip through the nature reserve of Scandola. The boats leave the port at 9 and 2 in the afternoon on a three-and-a-half hour stop at the Girolata on a half-hour visit. We arrived at 11 in the morning and we could not afford to lose all day so after taking a menthe à l'eau we choose to let it be and in its place we visit the west coast from Porto to Calvi on our own.

No doubt the curves that meander the cliffs between Porto and Calvi They are a joy for lovers of the wheel and also for those who appreciate the nature of the Mediterranean coast at its best. At each bend of the road there is a beautiful panoramic view of the sea and its coasts. We enjoyed the tour and did not pass the third gear to appreciate every detail that this beautiful area of the west coast of Corsica had in store for us.

Once in Calvi, we parked in the public parking lot of the center and settled in the first hotel we found in the city. The Belvedere hotel with its two stars and its 50 euros double was chosen. I was surprised to open the windows of the room and see in a single image the citadel of Calvi, the snowy mountains inside Corsica and a cruise ship on the city quay.
