Sara and her boyfriend decided to tune their minivan HondaCR-V, a model even closer to tourism than the Suzuki Gran Vitara, and turn it into a luxury camping tent with a sleeping platform and another for storing things.
The first thing they did was take out all the rear seats and left them on their floor. They placed a box in the middle as a support tailored to the interior of the vehicle. On this a plywood structure joined through hinges to facilitate accessibility to the bottom. When you stop driving and you have to sleep, the front seats are placed in front and the space they leave allows you to create a second compartment to divide the “bed” of the luggage area.
The minivans are not cheap at all but if all your possibilities are really optimized as this climber has done, without a doubt, the cost is amortized avoiding hotels, campsites and other tourist services.
